"It's called escargot, sir," said Daisy, carefully enunciating the 't' incorrectly. "It's French, innit."
Lord Smarmesbury regarded the unwholesome looking goop with considerable distaste.
"Remove this disgusting foreign bilge from my presence immediately or I shall have you shot," he roared with surprising vehemence.
"Cor blimey Guvnor. Keep yer knickers on," thought Gertie, looking on. It was, after all, a dinner in honor of the French Ambassador.
