Some things never change...
In these days of beastly television and movie violence it's easy to imagine our 19th Century ancestors lived in blissful ignorance of the baser side of human instincts.
Proof of the misconception is demonstrated here by the notorious Sado-Maso Brothers, Salvatore and Adolpho, a.k.a. "The Vaudevillian Villains", whose gruesome show toured the world over, including Canada, to sellout crowds during the 1890's.
