Some things never change...
In these days of beastly television and movie violence it's
easy to imagine our 19th Century ancestors lived in blissful
ignorance of the baser side of human instincts.
Proof of the misconception is demonstrated here by the
notorious Sado-Maso Brothers, Salvatore and Adolpho, a.k.a.
"The Vaudevillian Villains", whose gruesome show toured the
world over, including Canada, to sellout crowds during the
1890's.
