How times have changed...
It's hard to imagine in these times of impoliteness and
frank indecency that back in the 19th Century a common sight
on any street corner was that of a gentleman having a brand
new suit tailored for him on the spot by another simply to
make up for some minor infraction, such as using incorrect
grammar in a conversation.
