Humor Dispatch

The alarming decline in the national sense of humor during the late1880's was compounded by an epidemic of bad jokes, originating from Des Moines, Iowa in 1894.
Outbreaks of corniness, puns or other examples of a lack of sense of humor are reported to the Humor Department's Emergency Call Center, from where genuinely funny Humor Agents, or "H-men" are dispatched to wherever they may be needed.
