The last of Britain's Giant Pigeons was vainly employed in a
peace-making, London to Paris ballooning stunt in 1814.
Upon arrival, the blasted Frenchies took one look at the
enormous bird and the next thing you knew, it was being
served in a red wine and caper sauce.
