The earliest known episode of "Scooby-Doo", entitled "The
Fiendish Drapery Phantom" was shown in drawing rooms all
across North America in 1885.
Even then, the cleverly disguised villain "Would have gotten
away with it if it wasn't for those meddling kids."
Of course, back in those bygone days of innocence, writers
could get away with unbelievable plot lines.
