Perhaps the most beguiling mystery of the 19th Century is
how Fred Fanshaw became known as the Greatest Lover of All
Time.
Short, balding, uncommunicative, poorly dressed, devoid of
charisma, boorish, unimaginative, uncoordinated, abusive,
superficial, lacking in class, plagued with halitosis and
whose only sign of affection towards his myriad conquests
was a tight grip of the wrists - he tapped into some part of
a women's being like no man ever before or since.
His legacy unfortunately lives on to this day.
