The trouble with House Midgets, indispensable as they were to the late-Victorian upper-classes was that they would tend to have libidos in inverse proportion to their diminutive stature.
It was an unwritten rule that ladies should refrain from looking directly into their beady little eyes in order to avoid acknowledging the beastly, unspeakable thoughts they were almost invariably harboring.
