Thursday, January 20th 1887.
Controversial Fish Rights Activist Gillian Gilligan, a.k.a.
Gill-Girl stages one of her fearless underwater sit-ins at
top New Orleans fresh fish restaurant Antoinettes.
Paradoxically, wherever she went her stunts would invariably
increase business and fish consumption would rise 40
percent.
She was eaten by a shark in 1892.
